Introduction
If you have lost your mailbox key, this article explains the general steps to request a replacement. The exact process may vary, but typically, for all multi-family mailboxes, the US Postal Service is responsible for replacement keys.
How to get a replacement mailbox key
There are two options we recommend:
- Contact your local US Postal Service office. You may request this at the counter; the post office will charge you a fee. Please note that we hear there can be significant delays with the postal service.
- There is a local authorized postal service provider, Page Specialty. They can typically provide you with a key within several days. They have an online form to request a repair or replacement key. The link is https://www.pagespecialty.com/request-a-mailbox-repair
What to expect
Replacement options may include a duplicate key, a lock replacement, or a rekeying service. In some cases, only the mailbox owner or authorized manager can request this on your behalf.
If you need help
If you are unsure who manages your mailbox or what documents are required, please reply or call the HOA management company.
